A blend of old and new office furniture, functionality and budget were three key considerations in the fit-out by Shape Commercial of the GSI Insurance Partners new offices in Titirangi, Auckland.
Described as a brand new, stunning space with polished concrete floors, the new GSI Insurance Partners offices needed to balance some of the company’s older and more contemporary furniture. Like every office fit-out, it was never a case a ‘just some chairs and desks’. The plan needed to accommodate power and computer cables, screens and table management in a design that facilitated a seamless and productive flow throughout the office.
Most modern offices recognise the need to have different spaces for all the various functions of an office, from productive workstation tasks to meeting rooms and places for downtime or brainstorming. All-in-all, GSI Insurance Partners needed an office space designed to be fit for purpose, functional and modern.
Shape Commercial presented the client with an office plan and drawings, which helped visualise how the new space would work. Once the plan was finalised to the client’s satisfaction, Shape Commercial worked alongside the client’s suppliers to complete a fit-out that blended some of the company’s older desks and furniture with the new, including high adjustable desks. Adjustable desks accommodate people’s different shapes and sizes and allow staff to stand or sit during their workday – movement through the day is critical for health and productivity.
Soft wiring was also utilised along with cable trays to ensure that unsightly cables were hidden entirely.
GSI Insurance Partners compliance obligations necessitate the need for large file storage units that needed to be moved from the old offices to the new, without compromising the flow and function of the new office environment.
Within the timeframe and on budget, Shape Commercial ensured the client could make the move without disrupting productivity. Some of the work was carried out over the weekend, while staff also worked from home to ensure continuity on some days.
